Jazz Shabbat and 5th Friday Shabbats

The Mark Bloom Jazz Shabbat was a wonderfully lively and Jazzy service and Mark inspired the choir and our congregation with his wonderful Jazzy arrangements of traditional liturgy and his original words and melodies! Friday night, January 29th, was one of the 5th Friday nights this year, where Rabbi Biatch and Cantor Martin will be bringing some new and interesting forms of worship to our congregation. Stay tuned for the April 30th service!

Bulletin Mailing
In an effort to save paper, the environment, and costs you can now select to discontinue having the monthly Temple Bulletin mailed to your house. The Bulletin is available online. In the Bulletin we have member information which we don’t want shared across the Internet. To protect our members’ privacy we have secured that page of our website. This means you will need a userid and password to logon. On this page you will find the Bulletin, as well as the regular Donation flyer and the families that have donated to the Larry Kohn Chair of Jewish Learning Endowment. The other flyers are available on the Calendar/Special Events page. Please click HERE to fill out the form if you do NOT want to receive the Bulletin in the mail. If you would like to continue to receive the Bulletin in the mail, AND would like to view it online please request the userid and password from Stefanie at program@templebethelmadison.org.

Kesher Israel Committee Presents... A Taste of Israel

Israel Experience—Saturday, February 6
Israel Fair and Discussion—Sunday, February 7

On Saturday, February 6th and Sunday, February 7th, the Kesher Israel and Program

Committees are planning to share with you a taste of Israel at it's best. We start the weekend on Saturday, February 6th, with "The Israel Experience". "The Israel Experience" includes an Israeli style dinner beginning at 6:30pm. The price for dinner is $6 for members and $9 for non-members. Dinner will be followed by Havdallah, and Israeli dance led by Yonim. In the Temple Library, you will see a collection of paintings owned by Temple members and painted by Israeli artists. Make sure to walk in and enjoy the atmosphere and a snack in our Bedouin style tent for all ages. Children will love digging in our archeological dig looking for lost treasure.

After these festivities, the movie "Walk on Water" will be shown, followed by discussion. To RSVP for dinner please click HERE.

On Sunday, February 7th, our Israeli activities continue with the Israel Fair. The Fair will include information booths and vendor items to purchase. A presentation, given by Etay Furman, emissary from Israel to Indianapolis, will discuss the situation of Israeli Bedouins, the efforts of various groups to be helpful to them, and the success those groups have had in bettering the Bedouin situation. During this time we will also see clips from the movie "Yellow Asphalt". Child care will be provided if requested.
