INTRODUCING TBE LILITH SALON
More free-flowing than a book club, not as spiritual as a Rosh Chodesh group, and more intimate than a lecture; a Lilith salon is a gathering where a dozen or so people meet for an evening or an afternoon of good talk, refreshments, and renewed energy. Created by Lilith magazine, the print salon for Jewish women’s conversations for nearly three decades, these gatherings are being offered by women of Reform Judaism to sisterhood women across North America. Each salon has trigger topics taken from the latest issue of Lilith, but the conversation moves in whatever directions the participants take it: reproductive rights, interracial families, or new rituals for Jewish weddings. We’ll schedule a salon a few weeks after each issue of the quarterly magazine mails. WRJ and Lilith, together, will provide salons with conversation starters and trigger questions, plus guidance and suggestions from women who have successfully hosted Lilith’s pilot salons. Why WRJ salons? Jewish women’s salons bring the power and pleasure of conversation back into our busy lives. Salons are a low-key way to inspire face-to-face encounters, forge new friendships in your sisterhood, and energize Reform women for a social-action agenda. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, contact Jodi Oskin or Jenn Bernat to sign up. We’ll get you the discounted subscription information and registry forms that will go to Lilith and WRJ. Jodi Oskin: jtkoskin@aol.com. Jenn Bernat: jenn@bernat.net or 250-5115. We hope you’ll join us for some great discussions!
