Introducing Temple Beth El’s New Book of Remembrance!

Book of Remembrance CoverIn the past, Temple Beth El has listed yahrzeit dates in our Bulletin. We are pleased to announce that beginning this fall, we will publish a beautiful Book of Remembrance to memorialize our community’s dearly departed. The book will be updated annually and distributed prior to the Yom Kippur Yizkor service.

The yahrzeiten of all congregants’ closest relativesparents, siblings, spouses, and children—will be listed in the book, along with the date when we’ll observe the yahrzeit in the coming year. Then, at services each week, we will read the names of all those whose yahrzeiten occur at that time. You will no longer need to inform the office to have your loved one’s name mentioned at services; this will happen automatically. You will be informed via email in advance of any yahrzeit listed in your online account.

All yahrzeiten that are observed by congregants will be included in the Book of Remembrance at no cost. Please review your personal yarzheit list through your portal at tbemadison.shulcloud.com.

It is a Jewish custom to perform an act of tzedakah, or charity, to honor the memory of the deceased. Please consider donating via your online portal at tbemadison.shulcloud.com
